Yesterday I didn’t quite get to some of the ideas that have given me faith for tomorrow so I’ll begin to explore that today.
One of the biggest reasons I believe in tomorrow is because I have today. I got up this morning, put both feet on the floor and thought, “God has given me another day; I will rejoice and be glad in it.”
It is precisely that I have today which gives me hope for tomorrow. Today is my opportunity to shape tomorrow. Oh, I know that there is not much I can do today which will radically change tomorrow, but there are many small things, and a few larger things, I can do which will produce at least some change in my tomorrow.
One principle I live by in shaping my tomorrows is The 24 Hour Life. God gave us our life in 24 hour segments so that we will not be overwhelmed by the enormity of it. He only gives us one day to trust Him with and adds, “Do not worry about tomorrow, tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own” (Matthew 6:34).
In the verse just before that Jesus said, “Seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” He was speaking about food, clothing and shelter. He was telling those who believed that they need not worry about those things, but if they simply trust Him, seek His kingdom first, their lives will be well provided for in the future.
We have just begun to talk about how the principle of The 24 Hour Day gives us hope for tomorrow. You’ll want to read the segment for tomorrow.
I believe in tomorrow and so should you!
