Paul and Jane Smith - Founders of New Hope Ministries
Their first ministry together was at a low income apartment complex in 1994. They
ministered to people they thought were just poor and needy, but they later found out
that the cause of their poverty was drug and alcohol addiction. It was while ministering
to the many families in this complex that Paul and Jane learned to work with people in
bondage to undesirable behaviors like drugs and alcohol.

New Hope Community - The Pathfinder Inn
The work at the apartment complex opened the door for a ministry to homeless families in a 200 room motel that we called Pathfinder
Inn. New Hope Community was formed to give families an opportunity to become restored without having to be separated from each
other. We ministered to hundreds of families and many of them are leaders in the church today. This ministry project provided housing
and a restoration program for as many as 70 families at once.

New Hope Community - Villa Capri Apartments
After just over 2 years at the Pathfinder Inn we moved 45 families from the motel to an apartment complex we had leased for the
program. Many of these families flourished as they were given the stability of having their own place to live. By this time many of the
families had gotten off of welfare and the adults were working full time. In a little over four years we worked with over 400 families and
saw many miracles of healing and deliverance from all manner of conditions.
After just over 2 years at the Pathfinder Inn we moved 45 families from the motel to an apartment complex we had leased for the

God Walk - A Journey of Faith
The many lessons we learned while working with the homeless families provided the foundation for a book and a ministry of seeing
people restored. The theme of New Hope Ministries became Bringing the Message of Reconciliation, Renewal and Restoration To A
People and A Land. This message of restoration is the cornerstone of our ministry today as we travel across America and Haiti.

Relationship Evangelism - The Farming Method of Evangelism
A very successful method of reaching neighborhoods has grown out of the New Hope experience. While we were ministering in the
Villa Capri Apartments we began to "farm" the other complexes around us. By farming I mean a method of reaching a neighborhood
by being in the community visiting and ministering on a daily basis. After a few weeks we begin to build relationships with people who
look forward to our weekly visits. This method is taught today in churches across America.

While attending a missions conference in the fall of 2002 Paul and Jane felt God speak to them about working with Missionary Bob
Jones in Haiti. Hope For Haiti Now, a ministry with a vision to feed children and help support pastors in this impoverished nation, has
grown out of that call. To date we are feeding about 250 children and have dug two wells. We have also built a kitchen and toilet to
facilitate the feeding program at Bod Jones' mission, The Royal Palms Children Home.

met. First, there is a strong desire to reach their community. Second, many believers feel inadequate because of their lack of
effective training. The third thing we found was that many believers were still dealing with personal behaviors that kept them from
experiencing God's best for their lives. God began to build in our heart a desire to help people across America discover new
freedom in Christ and become equipped to serve in their area of gifting. NHRM has grown out of this God given desire.
Today Jane and Paul Smith have taken New Hope Restoration Ministries to a new level as they travel across America visiting
